(Contains spoilers) Armor/Weapon Enhancement and Dismantling confusion
I am about 25 hours into the game, and I am little confused about the enhancement system. Dismantling is pretty straight forward. It shows you what items you get when you dismantle. Enhancement seems straightforward as well, as it shows you what items you need to enhance your weapons.

However, once I get a weapon to +3, it doesn't seem like I can get beyond that. Is this correct or am I missing something? It looks like there is a price and shows what your weapon would be upgraded to if you could enhance it again, but it does not show any materials required to upgrade to +4 and up. It also appears that the weapon/armor is grayed out once it gets to +3. Any information that can be provided on this would be appreciated.

Edit (01/29/2017): I plan to keep updating this until I have all the unlocks for enhancements. The game does a very poor job of explaining this.

Enhancement 0-3:
- Item: Novice Smith's Acerite
- Where: provided as part of a story quest during enhancement tutorial after leaving Titania.

Enhancement 4-6:
- Item: Journeyman Smith's Acerite
- Where: provided as part of a story quest by going back to Titania and fighting a Ship Boss battle. Thank you Akkarin for providing details on where to find this.

Enhancement 7-9:
- Item: Master Smith's Acerite
- Where: provided as part of a story quest by winning the boss battle agaisnt Oscar and Teresa.

There are other places where you can go towards 10+, but i'm not entirely sure when or where that is. Once you got it to 10+, the weapon name will turn gold.

Might be later in the game, might have to do with levels of the shop, i'm not entirely sure. Haven't gotten that far yet.

The main issue is that I can't seem to get the weapons past +3. That just seemed very odd to me considering zesteria's fusion system didn't have this issue especially considering I have fought so many bosses. Guess I'll keep progressing to see what happens.

I got enchantment upgrade from one battle that dropped Potentites Journeyman Smith Accerite wich increasd enchantments to +6 idk if its from that particular battle or is it RDM

you have to upgrade the shop, the more lvl+ = more resources you need. we have to farm a lot in order to get high lvl weapons. it probably going to be easier in a new game +

You have to get certain potentites to increase the enhancement cap. I don't know how or when you get the higher ones, as I haven't yet, but I would assume you get them from boss enemies like pretty much every other potentite so far (or from leveling up the shop).

Possibly the side bosses? Like the stronger ones, the first one we meet is the bat, I think. I've heard someone saying they also drop stuff you'd want.

That makes sense. I'll keep an eye out and report back once I find the first one. Thanks for the reply

People need to read the "help" windows when they explain a new mechanics.
When it introduces you to enhancing, it clearly says 10 is the max, but what you have right now (the glacite) is only allowing you to go to +3 and you'll need to find the higher rank of it if you want to unlock the +4 to +10.

Basically, dismantle what you don't need instead of selling (sell the overflow of things when you reach 90+ of it).

I found that upgrading things to +1 before dismantling seems to be the sweet spot for the "novice" parts, as it only requires 1 "basic" material for it, and will give you back 2 (1 base +1 per level), losing nothing compared to directly dismantling, but it also gives you a bit of what you need for the +3 enhancement, which you don't get at +0.

guys how do you upgrade armor? i have a bunch of +3 weapons but i can't upgrade armor.. i asumed i needed a gem for it but the way you guys are talking seems like i should be able to..

edit: ok i feel like an idiot, i saw the v/b scroll between weapons but not the f/g scroll between item types..
