Fixing this would make the camera better for not just analog stick, but mouse as well.
This is super annoying and makes the control in the game feel "cheap".
At least give the option to walk as default and the hold down a button to run.
The binary camera movement is annoying. Having played literally hundreds of games with analog stick camera movement, where the speed of the camera depends directly on how much you tilt the thumbstick, which feels extremely natural, the binary on/off movement of the camera in this game feels quite annoying.
The walking thing I can understand. It's hard to create walking animations that smoothly transition to running (it's not impossible, and many game engine editors have support for this kind of thing, but it can be hard, from the designers' point of view). However, the camera thing is much less easy to forgive, because there's no reason for it. There's absolutely no reason why the camera movement can have only one speed, and the analog stick being used as a binary on/off button for it.
It works wonderfully.
