Dire Foes wayyyyyy too high lv on insane difficulty
I encountered a lv 84 dire foe when my guys were lv 7 in the games beginning when you first reach Northgand. Is that supposed to happen?

So far i understand they stay the same level for the whole game. Dire foes level up every time you kill them. Yeah my first dire foe killed me too... just escape the fight if you run out of revival potions :steamsad:

You can't encounter lindworm on your first difficulty until you come back towards the end of the game - if you carry everything over you can encounter dire foes from the beginning of the game, and since lindwurm is designed as an end-game dire foe the initial level is very high. In other words don't farm enemies in the initial snow area or you will encounter lindwurm. If it's not lindwurm, then you've encountered that dire foe multiple times, which is intentional.

I dont quite understand. Yes I did carry over everything since its my new game + and i think it was lindworm. Some giant lv 84 dragon. It was in that snow area in the beginning and my characters are low level i just started like 2 hours ago. Will all dire foes be like that for me?

No. Lindwurm starts that high-level since normally dire mobs do not show up until you've had the tutorial encounter right around where you get Eizen into the party. If you transfer everything, you include the potentites - one of which unlocks the dire mob encounters. The other dire mobs won't be that high-level, they'll start on their usual much lower levels. You normally encounter Lindwurm only after you've already encountered the others and return to the Hellawes region, meaning the encounter is tuned for you having a higher level than single-digit.

Also if you NG+ with potentite-transfers, there is an additional dire mob you can encounter in the prologue. When Velvet goes prickleboar hunting, bounce back and forth between the 2 groups near the entry to the cape. You'll encounter the 'Metaboar' as a dire mob there. It's only available at that point in the game. It can no longer spawn the moment you enter the tutorial fight where you get Searing Edge normally (after this tutorial fight, Arthur/Seres show up and save you).

That's weird I dont remember the Metaboar and I am doing potentite transfer for my save. Thank you for clarifying that.

since yuo fought too many enemies thats why the dire foe spawned, and why it was so high leveled is because you back to Northgand way later later in the game that's why the lindworm was so highleveled

You usually have to fight a decent amount of boars to get it to show up - unless you're actively trying to fight it it's very unlikely it would show up.
