Easy Performance and Framerate Solution to Try

So, I have a really high end system that runs everything maxed out. You could guess my surprise when I found the game running in slow motion when set to 60 FPS.

Anyway, I looked up the issue here and on the internet and found all kinds of solutions to try (for NVIDIA). I was seeing the same problem as most people (worked fine at 30FPS/runs in slomo at 60 fps, etc.) with many suggestions to change the 3D settings in the Nvidia control panel, tools to try, and so forth.

After experimenting with the in game settings, I found that simply changing the default Screen Mode from "Borderless Window" to "Full Screen" fixed any and ALL performance issues for me.

I'm posting this in the hope of saving some people the time and effort of going down a rat hole of fixes that may not be necessary. Nowhere in all the posts I read did I see a suggestion to change the screen mode, or if that had helped. The only downside seems to be that it takes a few extra seconds to Alt Tab out to the OS but you don't do that very often.

Hmm that's strange I don't remember having slow down like that. I think mine is defaulted to fullscreen

borderless is a horrible mode, not surprised at your findings.

Windows grants fullscreen apps some exclusivity to resources, whilsr borderless mode is treated like any other desktop app.

using borderless windowed can be good on lot of games if you ALT+TAB a lot for multitasks, EXCEPT for FPS games because this mode increase keyboard/mouse input lag and can be very annoying.

otherwise the game runs fine at 60 fps, no slowness (gtx970, i5-6600k)

thankfully alt-tab still works in this game using proper full screen mode, it will dump the texture cache and is a pause going back into the game but does work. :)
