and Ill say it again. .one should NOT have to sign up to download .torrent file or any other files . Im ok with directing people to there site/fourms but not require people to sign up for them
That would be great, because the instructions file size is growing, and the new training materials haven't even been released. Basically, my point is that your sharing is apprecaited, it would have been great if you would have respected the wishes of the community and owners of Falcon 4.0 by removing your link during the discussions, but now that it's resolved, it's a non-issue. In the end, most users of BMS will need to, at some point, sign up to the BMS forums for some kind of news, support, or to take advantage of the massive amount of content relating to BMS and everything from pitbuilding to suppored android apps to joystick profiles or instructions or voice control discussions, etc. etc. IMHO I find the position you take to be silly, like it's some big deal to sign up to some website for a game or thing one likes, or a software that someone is interested in, an org at that with no ads or revenue to top it off. No one with any sense will bypass the knowledge on the BMS website because it's "BS" to sign up, nor will they thank the world that someone like you provides merely the download so they never have to be exposed to the wealth of knowledge and instructions available on the BMS website. Hell, I'm a long time player with maybe 16 posts, but I get all my BMS info and questions answered there - no big deal to sign up. Silly. Just silly.
How ever if users and people want help, ask question etc I most deffently send them to the fourms.. after all thats the place u want to be if you require such things.
but if all ya looking for is the files to get the game running which btw is done via peer2peer via utorrent you deffently should not be required to register for that 24 kb file.. exspecilly when it not costing the devs a dime since all the bandwith is supported by the users that are sharing the torrent.
i personally been a long time users of BMS but not once have I ever needed to go to there fourms/site...
Again, the position you take is massively flawed, but know that I respect you. No one is required to register (by any true sense) in that BMS does not restrict the distribution of the file - it was only restricted once during the discussions with Tommo Inc. and those have been resolved.
It's your idea that BMS is somehow not it's own thing, but some missing part of this F-16 simulator that people are buying on Steam. This game on steam that you have made a discussion about is playable. There are no files required to make it playable, though there are some tips for users of Win10 or other installation issues on the BMS forums. The game that this discussion is about is the original Falcon 4.0 and it even includes the 1.08 patch which improves it a bit over the 4.0 - you seem to assume that this game is not playable without the addon content that BMS provides. Your statement seems to suggest that the work of the BMS devs is some kind of required file for Falcon 4.0 when it is in fact the work of the BMS devs to improve upon the original sim, as evidenced by the fact that ALL of these titles and their versions install into different program folders (Falcon 4.0, BMS 4.32, BMS 4.33, BMS 4.33.1).
A mod is a mod, it's not a set of files to "get the game running" as if Steam cheated people out of necessary files for Falcon 4.0
at this point u can remove the file from your torrent list.. go to your direct were u download it... and ether un compress it (assuming its .zip/.rar) or runsetup.exe
After registering with the forum, the page where the link is supposed to be just says "Your account does not have permission to access this page".
