Bud, the tutorial IS IN CHAPTER ONE. After you cast life on yourself, the game tells you how to use melee to cut down the rope. And because of inability to read quickly, people ask questions

If you're referring to the cordon right at the beginning of the tutorial (chapter one), where you've just been knocked down in the cellar by a fellow wizard, you cut the cordon by grabbing a sword
tutorial might not be displayed correctly; these include the SHIFT+LMB I just referred to.

If you're playing the Cyber Robe (AKA Tron Robe) You have hopefully already played through once, and can safely select the skip tutorial option. That robe is definitely a more advanced option in

You have to head to the party, complete/skip the tutorial, and only then you'll get your robes. It's made so you can make progress when you selected a robe that is not affected or damaged by the life

You could also skip the tutorial, but you probably don't want to do that... Because you will kind of need the advice you are given if it is the first time you're playing the game.

Ehm, if you have bound it to Y then I guess you have to press Y.

To proceed in the tutorial you have to destroy the rope with shift+lmb (don't know what you have to press on your touchpad).
