Is the game hard?
Does it have frustrating gameplay? And if I die, do I have to restart the level?

normal = hard because the you take way way too much damage and can't always dodge because of the size of your spirte

easy = max health bar to start so you are not in fear of died

It's really stupid, I want to play the game and get the health boosts without dieing in the first area but the earlier games were kinda hardish so it makes sense.

If you die you restart at the last checkpoint, which are here and there and not too far apart. There are some bosses that have the save point much too far away though.

So is easy recommended then? On the selection screen it says easy is for people who are not used to playing video games, but I've been playing video games for over 10 years, just not used to side scrollers and don't like restarting.

While I didn't play the easy or normal modes (I chose hard as a first playthrough), the game has the same line of diffculty of demon's or dark souls (or even bloodborne in some aspects), in which enemies kill you in 1-2 hits and each death makes you redo your progress made since the last save point, so you need to hit fast or make a good strategy to get past it.
So yeah, if you don't want a challenge and hit a wall, play the game on normal or easy and just enjoy the ride.:tbphappy:

Turrican, none of the bosses in the game have a save point that's more than two rooms away. Also while it's true that some bosses/enemies can 2-3 hit kill you in Normal difficulty, you get stacks of healing items which recharge back to full every time you reach a save point.

Easy mode is extremely easy, you can survive 10+ hits from almost anything, and your health passively regenerates. Normal mode is a very reasonable difficulty for anyone who's played platformer action games before. Hard+ difficulties are a challenge.

Play on Hard Mode and you'll have a good time. 2 hits and you're dead. Most bosses and some mobs can 1 hit kill you easily. I had about 5 hours playing it and I even reached the half of the game (I died about 30 times against a certain boss)
