I tried a mod pack in MINECRAFT that was absolutely terrible that kinda sortof tried to be "Angels ores in minecraft" but which had horrendous execution with some sort of awful custom anti-cheat script with awful grammar in its error messages that sprang up whenever i tried to look up recipes...but that had NoTHING on a modpack that was apparently a virus.
My biggest beef is that it has hundreds of materials and research that are never used.
there are 20 different liquid chemicals that you can research and produce right away that are never used for anything and solid mats have the same issue.
It could be that I am missing something and dont understand. or i missed installing some critical part of the mod tho.
A lot of the solid mats are alternatives for producing e.g. bio fuel, but sadly it does seem like there's a few too many plants that cover eachother a little too well, leading to one being overly optimal for whatever you're using them for...
But I don't recall anything with no use at all.
For smelting, more advanced recipes give you more plates per ore at the cost of complexity, though it's easy to mess up your math and think they're less efficient. HOWEVER, at early stages, simply crushing and smelting saphirite *does* give you more iron, but no copper, which can lead to some confusion.
The furthest I got was the algae->wood bricks -> coal process then I just needed to wait on slag and mud to make more landfill which was taking hours because my only limiting factor had become lack of space.
'orio that factorio can't run more then a set amount of items so it limits you on mod count. (meaning u cant run a bunch of mega mods like, SE,Decortorio,Kasterio,And a few hundred others together, i have the ram, but the game hard limits the amount of sprites or somthing.)
