Factorio
Equipment grid question
new to the game and just crafted for the first time an armor with an equipment grid and i wanted to know if the effects of the things placed in the grid like the wearable solar pannels or the energy sheild stack. what i mean is if i wear two energy sheilds will i have more armor then if i wore only 1?

I might be, but I doubt it. (...)

Okay, so the day cycle length did change. That's why I was expecting the old 30% on Nauvis to maybe be off by a tiny bit. But it seems like the day cycle proportions remained the same. So 30% it is.

About the other planets, I can say that I AM the one surprised, no doubt. For some reason, Vulcanus' nights felt really short to me, even in proportion to a shorter day there. And Fulgora felt the opposite way. It's kind of wild that they went for the same -30% on all planets, to me at least. Did not know the engineer planned the landing sites that way.

But I stand corrected, thank you.

Everything in there stacks except for night vision and belt-immunity, so until you have fission reactors make like 30 of those little solar panel, with quality if possible.
One thing you can do is have a couple batteries and a whole lot of personal lasers in a 2nd suit and then drive through bug nests (lasers alone won't destroy nests very well but can keep biters off of you)

I suppose that since Factorio is such a highly accurate simulation in every other regard, it naturally follows that the effects of latitude on day and night must have been carefully considered.

I've been saying that factorio realism stops at trees being chopped for wood, pretty much forever, to anyone complaining about a random new game feature not being realistic. My surprise does not come from something being realistic or not, including landing sites being that precise.

"On the the internet no-one can tell when you are being sarcastic."

(Though I would have thought that referring to Factorio as 'a highly accurate simulation' might have been a hint.)

Since I didn't make it clear the first time round, I thought the idea that the day-night cycles matched because the engineer deliberately chose his landing sites that way was a brilliant conceit.

I could only hope you were sarcastic, but then, how is someone supposed to really know?
Much like me saying "Did not know the engineer planned the landing sites that way." earlier.

What's surprising is not where we land or not. I don't care. The surprise is devs explaining how tough it was to make worlds feel different while at the same time making it a common -30% on all 5 planets. I don't understand that one.

Yes, fair point.
