What I have done in my past few factories is put petroleum and water on the bus and make sulfur on-site. However, since so little sulfur is needed, you can also put it on the bus as sulfur crystals (on a belt).
It's entirely up to you.
(I usually make explosives in the oil area).
Personally I think it depends on the demand for it. If you find yourself using sulfur in a lot more recipes than a handful, you likely will want to centralize it's production. Otherwise making it on site is preferable.
Sulfur for science, Explosives for various things, including artillery munitions.
But I plan a "liquid" buss so all of my pipes are in a dedicated spot. Its not too big of a deal to have 4 pipes (Water, Petro, Lube, Sulfuric Acid) going along with the belts.
Also, it's cool that you responded, KatherineOfSky, I'm a huge fan! I've found your guides (though some are outdated) to be helpful with pointing me in the right direction.
In my current playrhrough on Krastorio 2, I don't use a main bus at all.. But the Transport Drone mod. I actually like this better. I make ćthings' in a grid and tie them into the transport system. Then I request them where I need them.
Forgive me, but don't logistics robots exist? They sound like they do the same thing.
