You can change their color using the console command:

/color red

Standard colors will work.

if you don't mind disabling achievements...

red, green, blue, and alpha (transparency) from 0 to 1. not sure of player number in multi-player.

there is also the color picker[forums.factorio.com], and player color[forums.factorio.com] mods available for download in game.

It would be awesome to simply be able to create a machine in game to access and then just change your color depending on a red, green, blue and alpha value (or a setting in the menu, whichever is best)

What could be even better is if you could create an entirely new character model easily through mods! A new skin entirely, to be more precise

Well as a backup plan, you could maybe look up default color values?
