How to get iron on both sides of belt?
hiya, I have a factory but the iron is only on one side of the belt when coming out of furnaces, how can i make this for efficient?

With the way you have that laid out, there really isn't a good way to do so, but what I would suggest, is to put coal and iron ore on one belt going around the outside edges of the furnaces, and have the two rows of furnaces outputting to the same belt from either side. this would achieve your goal of getting the belt fully stocked up with iron.

Of course, you would add the input inserters as well. I didn't since i just built this real quick to make an example image for you. :)

Either adopt an "external supply, internal outflow" design like the one Shurenai suggested, ot play around with the belts so that half the furnace column is outputting to one side of the belt, and the other half to the other. One way to do this would be to reverse the direction of half the length of the belt, and have it circle around (the "outer lane" of the backwards half becomes the "inner lane" of the forward half). There are a couple other ways as well.

In the most common setup of inserter perpendicular to belt, inserters always place things on the far side of the belt. (Well, at least "vanilla" inserters; some mods provide additional options.) Inserters try to take items from the closest side of the belt, but will take from the further side, if needed. Details for less-common setups and pictures can be seen at the official Factorio wiki page[wiki.factorio.com], section "Inserters and transport belts").

A splitter can be used to evenly mix 1 lane into 2 lanes ~ https://i.imgur.com/LZ7JZzF.png?1
+ Useful at the end of a production line output belt, before merging with others.

Or to swap the output lane completely using the priority / filter output settings ~ https://i.imgur.com/hkhcCqq.png?1
+ This is useful if placed half-way along an output belt, so each half of the crafters output to different belt lanes. Like this.[i.imgur.com]

You take two half empty belts and combine them to get one full belt (e.g. take the right half of the output belts, reverse the direction and you'll get a T junction producing one full belt)

With the way you have that laid out, there really isn't a good way to do so, but what I would suggest, is to put coal and iron ore on one belt going around the outside edges of the furnaces,
You are making things way too complicated because your solution is essentially identical to OP's solution - alternating lines of inputs and outputs where it doesn't matter if you start with an input belt or an output belt.

You can also put more splitters in there somewhere to double it up earlier on

I've used a design like this for forever: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=748068348

Requires long inserters and logistics for UG belts. But this can be changed to use electric furnaces without much change. Pick up the coal inserters and lines, put electric furnaces down. medium power poles in the gaps by inserters.

Evenly unloads from both sides of ore belt, and loads the plate belt evenly too.

A compact way is to just make a little kink in the belt and add an incoming belt with nothing on it to where it turns straight again so that the far side gets added on the near side. Just needs two tiles on one side and one on the other at one point. Easy to fit in where you have a pole between groups of furnaces.

A little mockup I just made in Sandbox mode:

Ignore the use of solid fuel rather than coal. That was just because you can make solid fuel in quantity quickly in Sanbox mode, but you can't do it for coal or ore.

I'am using another Melting Concept, if u keep the 2 between each line u can also expand to the electric furnance without messing.

Hope you like it.

Sry, iam was using Bob Mods, so i guess the stone furnance will be missing in vanilla game.

Shurenai's method is the best in my opinion. you don't need a full belt of fuel, or a full belt of ore.
two outer half belts of ore to create one belt of iron. two half belts of fuel is more than enough.

That is the older tried-&-true method, & now we have Smart Splitters that can do the same thing in less space, as I posted earlier:

The belt method is cheaper, but the splitter method fits more neatly into beacon sandwiches.

I think the only one of those I haven't built is the middle one.

I only found out about the existence of them a couple of weeks ago. The only thing I've used them for so far has been sorting a mixture of iron ore and stone from a mining operation.

Bacon sandwiches? What kind of mods are you using and why would someone put that into Factorio?

an expression when using mass amounts of speed beacons.

They're useful for more than that.

One thing people used to ask for a lot is the ability to have a a belt that is, for example, half iron and half copper, and only send iron down the belt past a certain point. The splitter filters will let you do that. There is not really a good reason for doing the old trick with undergrounds to get the belt half that you want anymore.

Becasue bacon makes *everything* better.
