The last version to have blueprints without research?

I find factorio unplayable without blueprints, and don't want to torture myself with research to get it unlocked.
I want to revert Factorio back to the last version with blueprints available from the start. I searched "blueprint" in the update history but none of them seem to point out when they locked them behind research.

You probably want one of the Bot Start mods, they let you start the game with personal roboports and a stack of construction bots. Blueprints themselves aren't locked behind research.

There is an easier way, either make a map where you cheat the technologies or search for the console command that unlocks the tools.
It's a one-time unlock anyway, after that you have them at the start of each map.

The blueprint library isn't but the tools on the right of the hotbar need to be unlocked by researching construction robots once, this was introduced during 0.17.

To add on once you do unlock that the blueprints become usable without the research for every game on wards hence they'll be available from the start. Just can't automatically build with them until you get construction bots or something that functions as construction bots in some form from mods (EG companion bots, nano-something, etc) if you play modded.
