Uranium processing buggy? (Low U-235)

I started a new freeplay game in 0.17.0 (now 0.17.4) I got just over 800 U-238 from uranium ore processing before I finally got one U-235.

The probability of getting U-235 is supposed to be 0.7%, right? Not 0.07%...

I understand and feel your pain. Just setup a completely robotic base and took me around that as well for my first. Nuclear power going to take forever at this rate :(

I usually set up my centrifuges as soon as I get the tech, and then just let them run while I build. Hours later, I will have my 40 and then I will start Kovarex. I let that run for a long time while I continue to build.

By the time I am needing nuclear, I usually have 100s of uranium. Maybe you built a whole lot faster than I do, or maybe you are rushing for nuclear, when you don yet need it?

Just set it up and forget it for a while.

It's a probability, not a guarantee. Even with a perfect 50/50 coin, you could flip tails 10 times in a row :)

with v0.16 I have 5 full steel crates of u238 as i reached the 40 u235...

If you really want lots of u235 then create multiple Centrifuges up in a loop system, i made it with 8 Centrifuges in which i started with 40 u235 and now hours down the track i have roughly 18 Steel Chests full of the glowy good stuff (im a nuclear hoarder lol)

That only works after you can start Kovarex Enrichment, and won't help you get the first 40 U-235 you need to start it up.

You don't need to worry about the production of U-235 to be honest. With the way all the probability and numbers work out, one centrifuge WILL generate enough Uranium-235 to supply 1 reactor core with no shortages. You just need space to store the spare U-238.

Kovarex isn't necessary to run a nuclear set up at all. The only time you need excessive amounts of U-235 through that tech is when you're making nuclear rockets or using nuclear train fuel.

Kovarex enrichment or storing mass amounts of U238 that will just get larger and larger? Kovarex enrichment hands down.

Really? With infinite space, its not impossible to store anything. Storage is cheap. Even early game, storing 100K (or a million) bits-and-bobs is trivial.

I don't know why you guys aren't using your excess for ammunition and to enrich for nuclear fuel.

Seriously, I never have an excess of 238.
