personal laser defense

Still on 0.16, for now. My q is: Is there a benefit to having more than one laser installed in the MK2? I ask this because the wiki says: "Damage and attack speed are static and are under the electric ammo type, it does not benefit from any other upgrades." And yet, it *seems* to me that having 2 is helpful; twice the fire power. I was considering adding a 3rd. Anyone tested this yet? Thanks!

More lasers is more damage. They each count as an individual "gun", so 2 lasers would do 2x the damage.

Just beware of the power problems they may cause. In case your base lights start flickering.
edit: realized it was the suit lasers not the base, if you have 2 generators you can handle having lots of lasers but keep an eye on your suit's power

I don't think his personal laser defenses will brown out the base power ;)

They will eat through suit batteries though. I recommend at least two fusion generators and 4 mk2 batteries if you want to keep a large number of PLDs powered.

This... is... AWESOME! I have 3 fusion generators and 3 PLD's, and 2 batteries. I just walk into a large nest with my shotgun and POOF! The whole nest is wiped out in a matter of seconds. I have cleared the whole area around my base, including the farthest reaching oil pumps (which is quite a ways out there). I didn't get into the military aspect of the game until after I had launched 15 or so rockets and satellites, and was standing around wondering what to do while waiting for the next space pack. Now its RAMBO time!

If you thought PLD was good then try making 100 Destroyer Capsules, those things delete nests.
