Blueprints are a tool in the game, and an OPTION. They are not required.
It’s up to you to use others bp
If you found fun in not using bps then create your own or don’t but they’re definitely not taking away from the experience of factorio
Factorio isn't an MMORPG where you have to play 100% optimally 100% of the time or get left behind. A big part of the game for me is experimenting and finding new and unique ways to do things.
I don't use blueprints outside of the ones I've created, and if I need to learn how to optomize something better I'd rather create it myself using a tutorial or youtube video rather than just import a blueprint so that I know exactly how it works.
Do you also have to use game wikis and spoil every little explorational detail before you play yourself?
Do you also have to use cheat engines just because they exist?
"Please avoid "just dont use blueprint" comments"
Why do people make threads asking for things they already know the answer to and then don't allow this answer?
same if u play multiplayer, u want to start to build up something.. 1 minute later someone come to you and just place a blueprint there what is differenet from your plan.. now u have to delete his BP and write this player what is your plan, because u don't have an own BP.. ^^
or stupit players use BP for his rails.. if u can see that someone use BP for each curve, i know that i have to trigger the delete button, because mostly it is nonsense to use BP for railroads in multiplayer specially if u don't have bots. i think just noobs use BP for railroads.
and to OP, i had feel the same in the past. after i realized that BP is a must in this game i joned some multiplayer servers to look for good construction for BP. mostly u have to edit the BP or have to change it a little bit, but yes it's annoying that u are forced to use BP, but yes it can be fun too to create it and use it. so i know what u feel, maybe it will change after u got some good BP
u just ignore the point of OP and u simply don't understand why OP opens the thread. u can't feel the problem. maybe u played factorio for to long that u don't know your first times or u had different feelings about the first time u realized BP..
but simply to say that somebody plays the wrong game if he doesn't feel like u in relation to a specific thing is a little bit meh.. ;)
i forgot to say that BP can make fun in endgame and save time in endgame too, but mostly the round/ the game is over after bots are avaible. maybe thats not a fact if u play alone and 500hours longer then needed in SP ^^
These days, I don't use others' BPs. I generally want something very specific, and I probably can't find it in the BP database.
How can anyone avoid that? It's like the ancient joke, "Doctor, it hurts when I do this." One of the great things about this game is you can play it however you'd like. Some love fighting biters. Me. .. I turned them off the moment I learned how to.
But to come in and say that BPs ruin the game, well it's as foolish as me saying that biters ruin the game. And to be honest, your post sounds a little troll-ey.
Hmmm. This isn't true at all. Rail BPs are perhaps the most used in the game. Why would I manually build a track system to that far-away outpost when I can lay it down with BPs, which will include power and data lines?
Also I can build the track while I am enroute on the train. Also, also, my rail BPs are on a perfect grid so everything is always lined up the way I like. Also, also, also, I don't have to remember how to build a roundabout at every junction, of which I always have a lot.
Abstaining from blueprints in multiplayer is a great way to get chips and ye ole tool shoppe very quickly and cheaply. Underground belts are very expensive.
