Actual Ingame Clock
This game is near perfect.

The only thing that is missing is an actual ingame clock so I can notice what time it is so I don't play till 5 in the morning.

There are many solutions to this problem -- a watch on your wrist, a wall clock, maybe a smart phone on your desk...

Or make a working ingame clock with lots of combinators and lights...? :P I'm sure it'd be possible.

Or mod it in

With no way to read UPS using combinators there is no way you can translate the number of elapsed ticks to elapsed time.

Or mod it in
Apparently that's not possible either https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=32690

And the heads up display has been invented specifically to give the user information without them having to look away from what they are doing.

On a more serious note, try checking your GPU software - they sometimes come with overlays.

THE ART OF WINDOWED MODE. Real pc gamers play in windowed mode and even download 3rd party applications if necessary that are exclusively for that one purpose.

google has a 'set timer' mode that'll go beep beep beep
like if you wanna stop at 2am just go 'set timer x hours x minutes'

alternately just Shift+Tab to for steam overlay in-game, clock is on the topleft normally.

Shift+Tab to for steam overlay in-game and you have clock

maybe a clock for the game is a nice idea (day 1/ day 2/ day 3/...etc)

I don't understand this thread why not just play the game for the rest of your existance?

To be fair, you are doing something productive... because you produce stuff in the game...

I have a clock that mounts right on top of my monitor. You can get them on amazon or any number of gaming sites. Probably sell them at the evilmart too.

An actual clock glued to my monitor, or running the game in windowed mode, or using an overlay would work I guess.

I never realized adding 3 digits and a colon to the corner of the screen would be so polarizing.

Compared to the programming of the current state of the game I would assume adding an ingame clock would be super simple for the developers.

For me, an in-game clock would be undesirable and immersion-breaking.

put autosave to one hour, and everytime your game starts autosaving you know that you've wasted yet another hour in this game

Yes, the Factorio developers wasted all their check boxes on the other GUI options (every single one of which can be toggled off, e.g. in case seeing your name on the map breaks your immersion) so the next GUI option will be mandatory, take up 99% of your screen, blink, and play "Never Gonna Give You Up" at max volume on all in-game speakers.
