Also, your Gate Pal (ideally) should have (better) informed you about the event. On the last paragraph, it tells you how you can end the 'weather' event early. It is right there in the Theory section. Doing outside research shouldn't have been necessary.
That said, people forget to even read about stuff in the Gate Pal, and oddly enough not everyone just wears hazmat suits all the time like they used to in earlier versions. The Gate Pal still needs some work, since it still doesn't feel all that great to use, but it is better than it has been.
Next time a new thing happens, check the notices at the top right for a Gate Pal log, it might be helpful (though, not always).
I feel that the problem with the radiation event is that unlike fog or another, later event, it's all downside, there's no *opportunities* when radiation is happening.
I get that its projected from specific spots in the facility, just make it louder or carry further so I can hear it easier.
This is the reason why I don't wear them all the time, they make you slower.
Regarding OP's post: I can understand that you were caught by surprise by the event and also that it sucks that it caused your progress to halt, but you do get a warning about the radiation event coming up and you should have Hazmat Suits, since by this point of the game you've gone through Flathill. The description of the Hazmat Suit also says that it greatly reduces incoming radiation. Did you not think of wearing one when the event came up?
In the future, you can also wear a Hazmat Suit together with a Lead Vest, the radiation resistance effects stack so you'll be taking negligible amounts of radiation.
And as the person above me pointed out, there is a respawning rad suit in flathills, in one of the truck beds near the entrance.
Are you sure? Storms end at 6:00 the following morning. I never had a multi day weather event. In fact, they are quite rare.
That said, the odds of that happening would be astounding. Though if it was actually lasting for days, then there is a very good chance that is a bug, and should be reported.
