There's plenty of them around the place, it's just rare there's more than one in the same room in my experience.
Storing them in a fridge doesn't seem to slow down their decay, though.
Nor is it a way to farm. im also having trouble finding them. you need 4 per
advanced fertilizer and so iv basically given up on making it
That's the same issue I'm having, too.
Basically you need to go running through the night and trying to catch as many as you can, but it's still extremely RNG based.

Yes? All 3 of my fridges are powered up.
With batteries to power them at night?
Yes.
I have access to batteries up to carbon, I have no reason to keep my stuff unpowered at this stage of the game.
Anomalies are attracted to plant matter. Start gardening.
One way or another, anomalies decay extremely fast.

Used for crafting certain items. Compost, Fertilizer, Pest Teleporter and Transmogrifier.
Also, because I only found this out later: you can obtain Anomalies with a 100% success rate if you have Test Tubes in your inventory. Each tube is consumed to capture 1 Anomaly.
