What's the point of making a hand drill?

I think it's a little faster, but only like... A little. I made one purely because I was always going need a screwdriver and I may as well have the BEST screwdriver, even if I'm not actually sure it's making a difference at all.

the difference is barely noticeable. i wanted to see rapid fire construction instead it was no different to the usual screw driving poking motion... they should change it.

Same animation speed but each "poke" seems to build ~5-10% more than a regular screwdriver. Overall kinda disappointing

Nope. It's just a regular screwdriver but approximately 15% faster. The difference is neglible.

It's weird, because you hit the thing half as many times with the hand power drill, but with the screwdriver you can hit faster...?
(just upgraded my drill, so got that wrong)

It should be much faster, but it never feels faster.

If anything, make it for the swag?

Edit: This is what I get for not doing good enough science first. It is significantly faster. The issue is that cutting down the construction time is hard to notice given how short it is already. Unfortunately I already turned my hand drill into a power drill, but testing a screw driver with a hand drill give me about 7.4 seconds and 4.2 seconds respectively. I do remember that the hand drill weighed less, than the screwdriver (some how) so there is that little bit of bonus as well.

You want to make the hand drill because you can later upgrade it to something better.

I just tested building a small crate with the Screwdriver and the Hand Drill:

Hand Drill: 8 clicks, 5s

Screwdriver: 12 clicks, 7.5s

If considering the Makeshift Screwdriver, yes.

Hand Drill is the best one currently, AFAIK.

Oh, right. I haven't tested that one yet. But the Hand Drill is nonetheless a considerable improvement over the basic Screwdriver. I'll test the new one once I have access to it.

The Power Drill cuts down the hits to half of that of the baseline screwdriver.

People that think the hand drill is the best haven't stumbled across the recipe for the Power Drill yet. Including the makeshift screwdriver, there are four: Makeshift, standard, hand drill, power drill. I thought I'd add this just to help prevent confusion with the last two.
