Genius.
Also, how are you getting killed by the ladder? I've play Half-Life 1, and those ladders are death traps. The ladders in this game are great in comparison, heck, even better than some ladders in other modern games.
No shaming anyone here, I admit the mechanic to get on and get off a ladder feels odd in this game, and it is a hard thing for devs to get right. I'm wondering what people are getting wrong.
clearing the same enemies on repeat is seriously hampering my enjoyment of the game. they need to either be more interesting, less frequent, or at least rewarding to fight. even on the hardest difficulties in HL you would NEVER use more ammo than you get from a fight with soldiers. they should be dropping bullets guaranteed, especially since most guns are non repairable (without a glitch?)
I was sold on the concept for this game, but man the solo experience has been really bad in some aspects. Im sure it will get ironed out but its sad because there is so much good here.
Fall damage is dumb, no air control either so you SLIGHTLY move too fast when trying to drop on to a boucepad/cushion and "say goodbye to your kneecaps chucklehead". no air control is just awful in so many ways. its what makes source games feel SOO good to move around in, yet this does not have any for some reason. seems like a massive oversight, especially considering how many jump pads/fall damage items are useless without it.
Besides that, fall damage is harsh, but that's how it should be. Try to make those jumps irl, especially as a somewhat scrawny scientist, and you will hurt yourself and sprain your ankle(s).
>appeal to MUH REALISM
goofy scientist VIDEOGAME. opinion discarded. please fall back down whatever realism hole you crawled out of.
If so, you might want to take that off, since that might still be bugged.
It's not often you get to play as a scrawny scientist, it's part of the draw for me and my friend. Meme magic.
Sorry that you're not enjoying the game, though.
You know just disregard,
.eating irradiated alien meat with no consequences, despite it being strong enough to irradiate you by proximity
.taking iodine to instantly cure radiation poisoning
.placing a pillow on the floor to remove all fall damage
.handguns taking dozens of headshots to kill unarmored humans
.healing to full health by sleeping for an hour
.said "scrawny scientist" being able to punch through steel robot exoskeleton with a spear made from a kitchen knife
and dozens of other things that are nonsensical and unrealistic. but you draw the line at fall damage. lol.
and then the other dude who just says he likes lots of fall damage to be contrarian. again, lol,
two polar opposite responses, yet both as moronic. thanks for the laugh
And this isn't the only thread I asked in.
