disheartened by durability bug
was really enjoying this game. started a new server to tackle solo and get my nerd on... but now everything i build is nearly broken. yeah its not a huge deal, not necessarily game breaking, but i hate seeing everything all cracked, hate wasting time with a hammer, and im just losing the enjoyment for the game i guess. anyone else?

yep, the latest patch patch must have broken the durability system. maybe they'll put up a hotfix this week or so.

you two mean placeables are losing durability? i came here because all my equipment wither i use it or not is losing durability. i have a pick on me that i cant use effectively but am working on that level of strength. i havnet used it, but have had to repair it once already. but i have had furniture and such get damaged by enemies and magically fix themselves.

no, craftables (furniture, weapons) with durability are coming into existence with normal durability when the sandbox setting is different. like, my plastic shield has 24/240, my bed and crafting bench were pre-cracked, and each took an entire hammer to repair

You can repair deployables at the repair bench just like items. Have not done the math if this is cost effective - but certainly costs less time and nerves.

if i had a repair bench at the beginning of the game, sure. unless theres an anvil you can get access to at the start of the game, its really not much help

There is an anvil you can get at the start of the game.

Something that blocked your way at the start can be bypassed once time starts passing

And blimey but that was annoying to realize. ...And then I got into Manufacturing West and they're pretty much just lying around all over the place. *eyroll* As with so many resources, they're only rare the first time you need them and after that they're pretty common.

For anyone wanting a straight forward answer instead of the above "riddle", spoiler ridden:

There is an anvil at spawn if you wait till night. As you escape the spawn area you might stumble upon a fan that kills you. At night, it is stopped and can be passed leading into a large area with fairly valuable loot including an anvil.

My gripe is that twice I've placed Choppinators only for them to contually be damaged by.... nothing? this includes one that was already set and untouched pre patch, and one that was put down post patch. QQ let my spinning shocking gauntlet for robots live, dammit!
