Hard to find staplers?
They are needed for all the later game crafting, yet they are quite rare, trade please?

Nope.

1 in the manager's office inside Bounty Basket
6 in the first building
1 in the arcade, close to Dr. Manse's hologram
4 in the last building before the server room
12 total

That's what I got in my last run there. There is some variation based on item spawns, but you can expect getting at least 9 or 10 on a run there.
which building is the first building? i can't find the supposed 6 staplers.

I think he means the bank, the building with the big door on ground level where the composers can enter.

^ This, it's the bank. Right after you get past the first encounters, you'll go into the bank. Explore the rooms inside the bank and you'll find quite a few Staplers.

Bought the game yesterday, and as a solo player i have tons of everything stocked, including staplers. (If you see pens on a bureau, there is most of the time a also a stapler)

So i dont think most things will be hard to find later.

lol okay sit down buddy, yeah they are plentiful at the beginning when you have barely had to craft anything that uses them, but that changes (especially if you are playing the vanilla version of the game that doesn't respawn items in non-portal spaces). Really wish people who have barely played the game (and haven't even been to the Labs yet, let alone a single portal) would stop weighing in on stuff like this, especially on posts where it specifically relates to late game (current late game) content.

That said, Flathills has about 10 staplers you can farm when the portal resets. I agree that late game should have a better way of accumulating more staplers (and rebar). I recommend making use of personal teleporters with labelled benches to make a farming routine you do when the portals reset.

haha what? I played this game solo and I never visited a portal world more than once, except to get more gel. Maybe there was one time where I thought "huh, I need more staplers" but that was it.

get the magazine boxes from flathill and you can make the best crate in the game + you can trade silverware for carbon (but cooler) in labs

I only made a few medium crates because it seemed that per sq footage they were actually worse. Almost twice as wide but only 66% more storage. I don't know about the large crates because I didn't unlock that recipe.
Tarciryan 8 jun. 2024 às 17:51
Large crates aren't in the game yet though... the one you make with the magazine box is the radiation protection crate.
A personal tip, I set the 'stack size' much higher in custom setting, I found messing about with stacks was nothing but an irritating time sink. In that context it's always beneficial to have more item slots in a single crate, less jumping from one crate to another to find where you stored item X.

to be fair at that stage of the game every other recipe up to that point that requires furniture was learned by just interacting with the furniture , I dont know why the magazine stand specifically has to be picked up, given that it's a container. I can kinda get the barrel, though.

You can stack the Medium Crates and they are more durable (1,000 vs 150) than the more footprint efferent Filling Cabinets (except for Huge ones). You can also have visible names on the crates, which helps with sorting.
(So strong, you could practically use that crate as a defense)

There is no Large Crates (yet), but there is a Hazard Crate that is easy to miss if you never pick up the Magazine Stands in Flathill. It blocks all radiation, but unfortunately you can't stack those on top of each other.

Even though I'd prefer Medium to Large Filling Cabinets for most of my storage needs through much of the game, I later went with Medium Crates because I'd rather not have my storage get popped by some chance spiky potato, or whatever unlikely event some enemy gets to my storage.

should you hate flathill you can trade with the shapeshifter staplers for food but he is picky

Not going to lie, despite me trying to feed the 'Coworker' every night, which eventually got me a lot of staplers, it is pretty tedious. I feed it mostly to make use of the food and drinks I have.

Depending on your base layout (or where you happen to be at while exploring), he might be hard to find at night. Or you could feed him like 3-5 times in a night if things line up well.

I'd still recommend Flathill for a more reliable (and cheaper) source of staplers.

I have a crate where i store the cans from the bot farming, most of the time a combination of those works on him.

haha, yeah, same. I have so much soda from incidentally killing the bot, and just give 'him' soda at times. You miss out on the metal scrap, but given how easy that is to get, I'm not too broken up by it.
Talon 9 jun. 2024 às 14:22
What do we need staplers for late game? I have tons of them and only went back to Flathill once for a mailbox then used the self teleport to go back home. Finished all the content that is in the game, I believe but curious if I missed some recipe for staplers.
