Vampyr
Stuttering and FPS drops Issues [UNSOLVED]
I really like the game overall but it stutters regularly in certain locations and noticed significant FPS drops even been out of combat situations. Cinematics and conversation scenes are fine. The game isn't unplayable but the stuttering issue breaks inmmersion at certain points.

The number of users affected by this same performance and stability issue continues to grow: https://steamcommunity.com/app/427290/discussions/0/1696049513762606136/

My current rig:
  • Intel Core i7-6700
  • MSI Z170A GAMING M7 (MS-7976)
  • 32 GB (2x16 GB) DDR4-2133 Kingston HyperX Fury
  • Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (Factory OC / Driver 398.11)
  • ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 27" @ 1440p 165Hz OC (G-Sync)
  • Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows & Crontoller
  • OS Win 10 Pro 64 bits (v.1803 / Build 17134.81)

@ Win10 & NVIDIA Game Ready Driver both clean installations, Game Mode and GameDVR stuff disabled, G-Sync enabled (Nvidia v-sync enabled), in-game v-sync off.

After checking and enabling Nvidia V-Sync through the NVCP the issue minored but still there.

My PC meets the system requirements recommended by Nvidia for 1440p, 60 fps, High Preset (I know they said nothing on frametimes stability or smoothness experience). Please, a patch is needed.

Best via for reporting the issue to devs: support@focus-home.com

We can also share here our experience and reports on this performance issue.

Thanks in advance.

Please, any idea how to fix it without rolling back the entire OS to Win10 1703? Are devs aware of this issues or even reading us? A better way or via to report the issue to them?

windows is not the cause, i had the same issues under 1709 and now with 1803. it seems to me that this problem is related to the loading of assets and textures while moving within an area.

Yeah, I agree with you and that seems according to other users reports. I'm going to edit my post.

Anyway, we need some reply from moderators or better from game devs. The game performance issue is clearly there and it should be fixed as soon as possible.
I have the same problem of stuttering especially near the hospital and also during the race

You're welcome. I hope it too. I wrote them yesterday morning and they replied me few hours later.

Here is their reply:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting the technical support of Focus Home Interactive.

Your report has been forwarded to the Vampyr Quality Assurance team and the developer DONTNOD Entertainment for investigation.
DONTNOD is currently working on a game update (no release date yet, sorry).
Meanwhile, please click OPTIONS > VIDEO > ADVANCED, set VIEW DISTANCE to LOW and test.

Regards.
It's weird, I had excellent performance all through the beginning tutorial, but as soon as I reached the hospital the performance was quite a bit worse.

I sent a feedback, here is their response:

"Hello,

Thank you for contacting the technical support of Focus Home Interactive.

Your report has been forwarded to the Vampyr Quality Assurance team and the developer DONTNOD Entertainment for investigation.

This could be related to a conflict with the Unreal Engine 4 and some applications such as ASUS Sonic Studio II, MSI Gaming APP and other software suite installed by the motherboard manufacturer or another application running in the background.

You can test by closing all unnecessary applications before running Vampyr. If you play with a game controller, please unplug it, restart the computer and test while playing with the keyboard/mouse. I saw some people with performance issues with a wireless game controller and no problem with a wired model for example.

Anyway, the QA team and the developer are aware of these performance issues but still no information about when an update will be published.

Regards."

Their solutions are not working for me: im not playing with controller, and there are no opened background applications. The interesting part is the last one: they are aware of the performance issues, but there is no ETA to publish an update or patch. Hopefully this will change in the near future (i mean couple of days, not weeks or months of course).

This can be a great game, i can feel it, lets give them some time. Hopefully we will not regret it.

You would think it's an asset streaming issue but I get stutter when I rotate the camera at medium settings 1440p on a 2080ti!

It's been too long, they are never going to fix it. I don't know why I keep checking other than I'd like to play the game but refuse to play it in the state it's in.

Funny enough. Turning the camera while standing still gives me no framedrops whatsoever.
How I fixed this on my PC (i7-8750h, GTX 1070 8GB), in 1920x1080 (144Hz g-sync screen). It's now perfectly smooth without a single hiccup. I have the Microsoft Store version of the game.

For non-MS-Store versions should be:
