Yes it counts.

You just may not kill the npcs with the Q drain ability, and not kill them actively (kill commands in the conversationchoices) turning is okay in most cases, as is tranze

if npcs are turned (skall) already you may kill them aswell
priest in a certain bossfight is okay to kill
you have to rescue all npcs that are in danger - if you rest before freeing them they die (if you triggered their event)

Combat is np. Just do not embrace anyone just to be sure and there is one boss fight that you have chance to bite an npc hostage that I am not sure if it will cancel achievement or not. But other than that combat in np.

pretty sure priest is not ok to kill. atleast it was the only difference between my playthrough to one of someone who did not get the achievement.
you also do not have to save everyone.

feeding on trash mobs is ok.
don't know about bosses. it seems people who had opposit choises made in different aspects who got the achievement and many who did not. either it's the priest or something else that is blocking it but not obvious at all...

You can bite enemiesd during combat.
but you cannot Feed on Vicar. that is a lie.

Its not that hard actully, there are plenty of ways to drain blood from enemys in combat and items. I dont even use the items though, never needed to.

I wouldn't recommend to drain priest during Mary fight, because i didn't get achievment with that ( and i didn't embrace anybody).

Ouch, good to note, I just got passed that saw her kill him, and thought, was there a way to save him? I did the fight twice after losing some lovely injections for it but just missed grabbing him beofre her, thinking maybe I could stop the kill..

Yeah, I did the same thing. To define biting; when fighting an enemy whom is trying to kill you it is perfectly fine during the fight to bite them, but to embrace a named. talking, NPC it's Not OK for the (Not Even Once). And to be safe don't kill the priest during that boss fight.
