you know when the red eye thing pop up and their characters start to glow when your in blood mode essentially that. would you understand if i explained its essentially evesdropping ?

You need to wait for them to get into position (inside the locked room), it might take a moment. If the 'eavesdropping' icon still doesn't show then it's proberly one of those random bugs. Restarting your game should fix this.
