Biting in combat ok?

I played the first 100min without biting anyone because I read it has heavy consequences and one should be extremely careful with biting people.
Therefore I can use almost no skills (because no blood), only if I find rats.
Or is this only for story characters? It seems to me like biting in combat is quite a standard move...

Where did you hear this? Its encouraged in combat depending on the weapons you use. Its fine. Bite away

Biting in combat is ok, Biting npcs are bad

biting/feeding on any mob(mortal or immortal) is fair game; have fun:P but hands off npcs if you want good ending(i only embrase 2 and got good ending still). alot of weapons when you upgrade them there is sometimes way to make them also drain blood from you victims.

thanks. I guess I got the idea from people talking about npcs but I didnt know the game then.

It's a bit silly how NPCs and enemies are so disconnected. It's like playing two different games. You play the pacifist, but can bite and kill a truck load of vampire hunters and still be lauded that you haven't taken another life since you've been sired, and that you have learned to control your thirst.
