If by reward you mean achievement, yes you won't get it on story mode because then it would be too easy. But all other achievements, endings or whatever else there is can be unlocked. Only difference is that combat is just effortless - I only died twice throughout the whole game, during one boss battle because I was too lazy to spend my XP, and even still managed without it on my 3rd try.

Even on normal mode if you've killed enough civilians and upgraded your weapons you can one shot skals and vampire hunters and 2-3 shot tougher enemies. But I can't say the same for the pacifist playthrough (without embracing anyone), I can imagine that one being pretty difficult. So if you want to have an easy time playing the game I recommend story mode for the pacifist playthrough (without being able to get the "Not even once" achievement) and normal mode for the evil one.

if you are going to embrave, id wait til you get thier clues.....and you wont get them all, so just enjoy it, make decisions and live with it..its a game

some imply that in normal and hard there is also another thing voiding the achievement´s gain-drinking the vicar at mary´s boss fight dry,instead of letting her do ti and let her fully heal
