Weapon damage shows on menu=base weapon damage at that level*(1+each damage boost upgrade)
(Two-handed)Mace(especially Samuel Connor's Mace, which requires embrace Tipets) is the best melee weapon in game. Both the damage per hit and damage/stamina rate outrank all others(single hand swings faster however damage per hit and D/S rate is low), has quick running attack and breaks white guard 15 per hit. Hacksaw swings fast but has really low base damage, not worth upgrading really as you can use two-handed(club/scythe/mace with damage upgrade) to do melee damage. When blood runs low, change to single-hand&kife in your second weapon slot.Use knife/dagger in off-hand to drain blood.
I was wondering about the sword as a possible replacement for the havksaw thinking as was dlc might be higher damage but if is same or similar might not be worth it & just as good to stick with what I have currently.
