Blackmail in Whitechapel

I checked mission log after completing quest but it seems " Help Dorothy Crane " is failed somehow. Is it how its supposed to be due patient's death or did I screw up something ?

Nothing to worry about.The only difference would be Dorothy Crane reaction . She would have complimented your skills as a surgeon and that's it.But there's no way to prevent patient's death.

Thing is I did all the " correct " choices during surgery and she complimented my skills. Not sure why it shows " Help Dorothy " as failed with red X mark.

It always does. I've just loaded my edngame save file , in which I impressed nurse Crane and have the same x mark as you do. It's a feature not a bug , I guess.

His death is inevitable no matter what you choose, however I would suggest chosing all the wrong choices, the dialogue is more hilarious.
