Also as mentioned on this thread and I saw other ones, having to hold Q to walk is just dumb and can make fingering on the keyboard feel awkward especially if you don't have a multi-button mouse. A toggle option would be the obvious fix...it feels like this game was made for a controller and set up for PC controls in a rush and not tested properly internally,
ok
I will be restarting the game while using my XboxOne Controller and i will find out.
I agree, i normally use KB/M, but sometimes PC games that are so obviously ported and they tend to not really bother to optimize the KB/M controls and it makes the controller a more preferrable control choice.
For myself, it's called comfort. Some people don't play on conventional desktops. Sitting back in a comfortable chair, while on your big screen with a keyboard and mouse gets tired after awhile. And from someone who's been playing video games since the NES, it's a bit of nostalgia. For other games (Let's say GTA) driving with a joystick for subtle movements instead of an all or nothing WASD, makes a huge difference. While other games, lets say FPS you'd want to use a KB/M. To each their own.
Now you can understand instead of complaining in the future and adding pointless comments to a thread.
It is the right tool for the right job, not some hard rule as PC=KB+M.
The strength of the PC is that it offers all choices, not that it has only a keyboard or mouse.
Third person action games are objectively better if you can dodge in an analog manner versus 4/8 directions you would get with the keyboard. If you add mouse to the act of dodging it can be awkward and you loose camera control.
Equally true, some driving games are better with a driving wheel or even a normal pad. Accelerating, breaking and drifting feels better with triggers on a rumbling pad than pressing WASD on a keyboard. And in a hard turn, I can move my body and hands, leaning in. I know it does nothing, but I feel more immersed.
Some 2D platformers are better with pad, some are better with WASD. Depends on level design, needed precision and the fell of movement and jumping.
But to get back to the subject, all third person action games feel significantly better to control with a pad for me, the same way as all shooters feel better with KB+M, even though consoles have no lack of shooters with satisfactory mechanics implemented on a pad.
So I can't understand why one would stick to KB+M on PC and not pick and choose the right tool for the right job. Sticking to one tool is a console trait and one of its weak points.
I play Rocket League with KB/M and i played Batman with the KB/M also, they are well done for those control schemes, i just think any game that gets ported to the PC should have its KB/M controls optimized, otherwise its just a lazy port job for more profit.
Its like they really want you to play with a controller as the game is not complete without it. Either wait for patch for all the mouse and keyboard issues are fixed (if it will ever be).
I just hate devs prioritizing consoles over PC, just dont sell on PC next time if you cant properly port a game.
