Just let the price drop to match the quality of the product to the actual performance on the mouse and keyboard. Slow to patch and no communication from the devs shows they really dont care about the PC platform.
People who are disappointed with the mouse and keyboard optimization that gave a negative review probably refunded. And if you refund your game, your review will be deleted. So yeah there are hundreds of negative reviews about this that probably got deleted and a dozen still remained.
That's more of a design issue than overall quality. While Witcher 3 combat was never amazing it is at least somewhat smoother than this. In this game the combat animations are horrible and the overall feel of the combat is clunky and unresponsive. The combat itself is pretty damn basic, but it's not like W3 was anything special.
The pure amount of enemies in the game is indeed quite a killer regarding immersion. How are vampires unknown to the public if there are hundreds of them roaming on the street by night? And hundreds of dead vampires corpses cluttering the streets in the morning...
Do you mean that a bad combat mechanic (usability) is forgivable, because it looks (animations) and feels (responsiveness) better than a game were usability is better, but doesn't look and feel as good? Esp. if OPs complain was about the M+K controls?
The combat is not well balanced too. You can spam the stun attack and bite to gain more stamina to spam some more. Beating enemies 10 levels higher than you is not that hard and same level enemies are just boring mobs. If they balance the stamina meter more then it would be a challenging combat indeed.
yeah but you didn't pay top prices for this game. Top price is $60 and another $40 for season pass. If not even more then that.
Hell this game still 15% at fanatical.com. Don't complain the game is to expensive if you paid the price directly through Steam. They are always the most expensive unless it's a summer sale, etc.
I sometimes whack '2' instead of '1' when I try to heal which has killed me, however I view that as my fault for relying on my touch typing instincts rather than just glancing down for accuracy!
As for value for price, well I tend to judge the value based on cost per hour of entertainment. I have 23 hours in this game which I bought for £40 (I think I got a reduced price as I pre purchased) - that's less than £2 an hour currently. I think I'm about half way through so the final sums will probably work out at about £1 an hour - what other fun activities can you access for that price?
Shadow mist can often oneshot enemyes in an AoE or atleast take over 50% their hp if not ressisted.
You can upgrade weapons to give blood on hit and spam skills/heals on cd.
You can actually stunlock bosses here...
This game is more a story driven RPG, it is surprisingly challenging when you don't feed on npc but it isn't dark souls, you aren't going to die lots of times on bosses and what not(if at all), it isn't meant to be challenging for everyone.
Some find it hard as is, let the more casual players enjoy it too....
What utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, they ask AAA+ money for this title and the movement makes me dizzy.
Oh, i don't disagree that the price tag for Vampyr is probably too high compared to other games with the same price tag.
But if you assume a certain quality just because of a price tag it's your fault.
Actually it's not that obvious. The controls in this game might not be perfect, but mediocre. With deviations depending on personal preferences and skill. I don't mean this offensive (not some "git gud" reference) - it's just something depending on experience.
E.g. i can't stand controllers. I'm really bad at using a controller, even if it's the most perfect way to play a certain game. If I have a choice I'll always use M+K instead of a controller, no matter what. Simply just because I'm not used to them (and never will be).
And yet I don't think that this game is that bad if you are using M+K. There are examples for really bad M+K controls, e.g. the Dark Souls games. But in Vampyr you might just need some time to adapt to the controls - but they are not that bad as some people claim.
