"Holy Crusade" side quest completion bug (spoilers)

Quest can get bugged IF you one-shot both enemies in the cemetary (Samuel and the Rogue Skal or presumably just Samuel if you could get him fast enough) with something like the ULT that kills both at once (Reid level 32 ULT). Reid's Dialog is interrupted and you'll immediately get the diary, but the quest doesn't register that he's actually dead and will get stuck on "eliminate what's left of him". Leaving the area and returning, his corpse will be gone. I'm reloading a manual save to get around it (copy/paste the slot0 and slot0_bak files [or whatever slot your game is saved in] from the save folder to somewhere else; then overwrite the newer save). Not even bothering trying to workaround.

Be warned if you aren't manually backing up saves.

Also, the quest marker stays pointed at the cemetery.

This update bug didn't happen to me, but I did automatically pick up (and open to read) the diary when I killed him.

Maybe that's where the bug lies, because I was about 10 meters away from his corpse at the time. This is the only character I recall automatically dropping loot directly into Dr. Reid's paws.

Same bug happened to me. I didn't notice I had to "eliminate what's left of him" and moved away from the body. When I returned, I couldn't continue the quest.
