Stuck on "Holy crusade" sidequest

After tracking down and killing Samuel, I found his diary and read it. The game now says I have to "eliminate what remains of Samuel the disciple"
I have no idea what that means, I'm on spot, checked the map also. But there is nothing to do or interact with. Help anyone?

If you've already killed him and read the diary in inventory, have you tried returning to the quest giver? I think in my game this didn't update until I left the cemetery zone.

I know there's another quest The trapped woman in the tomb that doesn't update until you sleep.

I had that same problem. I had to sleep to make him respawn and killed him again.

Thank you guys! I will try that! Had no chance because the main quest (the funeral etc) somehow locked the rest of the area for a time, I will come back later!

I got exactly the same bug and I know how to reproduce it. Basically, I killed the target before entering the zone that updates the quest to the penultimate step - by using Shadow Mist from a distance and then pulling the target outside his original location. Which is almost always how I start the battle, for obvious reasons...
