spoiler** Lore question: How did protagonist get turned into a vampire, if he was bitten?

We learn from the game that vampires are created by drinking blood, yet at the start of the game we see puncture marks on Reids neck indicating that he was bitten by a vampire.

Mary also turns up as a vampire, and she didnt drink any blood.

If this is true, then why dont all the other people you can kill in the game not turn?

We don't know if they were forcefed any vampire blood, since they weren't exactly in the best mental state to remember it.

It's a somewhat different Mythos, but in Vampire the Masquerade, the Maker had to drain their soon-to-be progeny dry, and then feed them their blood.

They dont really explain how the process works, they just mention that the progeny has to at some point consume the blood of their sire. Either they do it consciously or unconsciouly is never secified.

The key point here, I believe, is that Jonathan is a specially made vampire by one of the Eldritch Horror Progenitors of the Vampire. You aren't some second or third generation vamp, you've been created by the otherworldly beings that made them in the first place.

Since you marked as spoilers here some: Ashbury explains that a vampire needs to make the person drink his blood to make someone vampire OR be bitten by some old or powerful vampire lineage, that what happens to Reid and Mary
