Why is this game around $10 cheaper than the Ps4 and Xbox one versions?
Asking because it seems a bit too good to be true

I've been a PC gamer since the late 90s, and typically, AA or AAA games are priced $10 cheaper than their console counterparts.

Much has changed since the 2000s, though, and prices for PC games have risen, hitting the $59.99 mark. Speaking of AAA titles from well-known companies.

The price varies for PC games in general, so I wouldn't look into too much.
No royalties to pay for on PC :)

PC platforme is not owned by anyone.
Consoles's games are more expensive because the console constructor take a % on every game sold.

Just few years ago, every AAA games on PC were sold between 45 to 55$ instead of 60$.
But many publishers increased the price to match the consoles price because... GIMMY MONNY !
Because PC games are generally cheaper.
You pay extra for that silky smooth 30 fps cinematic experience.

You realise Steam takes a large percentage of income from game sales, right? That's kind of why it exists as a business. :p

Indeed. To release a game for a console you need to pay a license fee/royalty to Nintendo/Microsoft/Sony for selling a product that use their hardware. It's how it's been for years. It's generally $10 per unit for big budget games and lower for smaller games, like $3 or something.

This is also why Microsoft and Sony sometimes also sold consoles at loss, especially when the consoles are new, to later recoup the money from the game sales.

While there is nothing similar on the PC, Microsoft doesn't require any license fee from anyone who develop and release Windows software.

Just like any store out there, digital or not, and got nothing to do with this. If I buy milk from a grocery store, it's not just the farmer that gets the money, the store gets some money from it too.
Guessing cut from distributor and royalties to companies are two very different ballparks.

So? Steam is the store not the platform. If you go to a store to buy a game for playstation both the store and playstation are taking a cut. On PC it is just steam if it is a steam game.

I may be too late, but the only way just steam makes money from games, is if it was made by valve themselves. The maker of the game gets money, too.
