Either find a ranged weapon or wait until the gunner reloads but if you're starting a brand new game at a low level with low health and minimal skills unlocked, just run because they are not worth the effort at that point in the game to fight...

You can kill them easily even with low level: ( may needs some practice )

Get one smg and a katana ( you can find both in paradise plaza)
Run between the trees and wait for them to come ( they will stuck there (they always do))
Now first shoot down the gunner.
The rest is pretty easy now, wait till they crash again against a tree, and take out the driver and then the second driver. ( with katana )

(always carry some heal of course)

They aren't much of an issue as long as you aren't trying to escort survivors when you encounter them. What I always did was use the trees in the area as cover and let them try to ram me while using a good gun to drop the gunner first, after that the rest is just keeping trees between me and the car.

I always hated these guys because they actually respawn as well. So even if you take them out they come back eventually. I really think they're meant to be avoided and not killed.

Ah, those guys. Yes they do respawn on day 3 even if you kill them. I take it you are going for the Carjacker achievement because there's little else reason to kill them. When you unlock the Wonderland Plaza shortcut in the case Out of Control, you won't even need to go into the courtyard.

1. What level are you ? I agree with Link that if you are at a very low level, it's best to avoid them because between the gunner and the massive damage from the jeep running over you, it's not worth the trouble.

I'd suggest you get the sniper rifles from the Hunter family in the case Mark of the Sniper or from High Noon Saloon in North Plaza. You'll need three for good measure. Be aware of your surroundings so that you aren't grabbed while aiming. Take out the gunner first, then the driver. After the driver is killed, the passenger will quickly grab the wheel. Kill him also and then as soon as you enter the jeep, the achievement will pop up.

The alternative method would be to kill the 53,594 zombies in the tunnels and get any ending in the game to unlock the real Mega Man Gun. It is the most powerful weapon in the game (Yes even more powerful than the Mini Chainsaws) and you will defeat them in one shot each.

I don't know what you mean by that, but yes it is real. I've tested this theory numerous times and if you kill them, they will respawn on day 3 and not only that, they are quickly replaced in Overtime Mode by the helicopter, which I take it that it means that the helicopter is meant to kill them.

Anyway, yes, I've killed them with three Sniper Rifles on numerous occasions.

Btw: Am I the only one who thinks that it is utterly difficult to deal with them? Always losing my motivation to play after I get killed by them, because loading the savegame and fighting my way through the mall until I get the chance to fight them again costs too much time :/ And for all of the quests, there seems to be no other way to get to the required location than to run through the park.

What level are you ? That's the thing that sets Dead Rising different compared to other games. Level is very important because of health bars and inventory for food items and weapons. On Day 1, you can ignore them because they won't spawn until 7 Pm. When you leave the Food Court after 7 Pm, you will see Sophie running away from them. You can tell her to quickly follow you and she will. Then you must race for Paradise Plaza. At 10 Pm, you get a case called Out of Control, where Otis tells you that the Space Rider indoor roller-coaster ride is going at maximum speed and that you should check it out because it seems that one person is on the roller-coaster.

Head over to Wonderland Plaza through the Food Court and defeat Adam the Clown. After that, the survivor will say that he works in the mall and that he knows a shortcut back to Paradise Plaza from Wonderland Plaza. If you hop up on the sink in the bathroom in Wonderland Plaza and press B, you will get back to Paradise Plaza. With this, you won't even need to interact with the convicts at all because you can enter North Plaza from Wonderland Plaza and on Day 2 after doing some case Files, the shutters from Paradise Plaza to Entrance Plaza will be opened. Inside Entrance Plaza, you can get to AL Frezca Plaza.

Thank you!! Yes, my current quest is „out of Control“.
TheZman543 Oct 16, 2017 @ 12:47pm
if you run a certian distance around them in the first encounter when getting sophie they will not chase you. So after getting shopie to the safe house, grab the katana from the awning at the coffee shop then grab a manneqine which can be found at the elevator on the first floor and beat the drivers with the manniqin then the gunner with the katana.

grab the mini uzi's around the mall one is in the fountain in alfresca plaza
Veles Nov 15, 2017 @ 11:05am
Grab an Uzi from the fountain in the open area that you follow brad through in the main quest. Let them crash into a tree and then fire at the gunner until he's dead. After that it's just a matter of killing the driver and killing the other guy as he takes his place (Preferrably with a katana).

easiest trick is just lure them to the trees, they're going to get stuck there and shoot from far

if they able to move around, to survive just running in circles around tree while they chasing you, they can't hit you that way and try to make them get stuck again (LOL)

just don't run in open field, you'll die

There is a lamp post near the pond part of the outside area. What I did was similar to what Schwartz did and just lured them there.

I had the chainsaw from the Adam psychopath boss fight so just waited and they kept slamming into the pole. With this, just angle yourself so you're standing behind the pole and the convicts machine gun doesn't hit you when he's firing. Angle yourself a little bit by moving against the pole and just swing the chainsaw. It worked like a charm!

I didn't know you had to get in the car to get the achievment, I thought you could just take the machine gun (I did it by memory - then found out the name of the achievment was 'Carjacker'. Oops.)

Hope it worked out.
