This Game Has Aged Really Well

I've been replaying it in 2025- now at 4K/120fps on a 65" TV It looks and runs beautiful at 4K. The game just *feels* better at 144fps, too. Like, I remember the controls feeling slightly "heavy", a little sluggish, and I didn't realize it until it was gone. And I'm playing way better now, too, the game seems almost too easy now.

Now I just need to get some friends to come over for a little split-screen action...

I really wish they'd renew the car/music licensing long enough to sell it for just another 6 months so everyone who missed it can grab a copy

Unfortunately that is almost impossible mate, this is already considered abandonware and Activision has no interest in this game

Yeah, I know :( And the sequel was canned long long ago.

The release timing of this and Split/Second was so dumb and tragic. Split/Second and Blur were both combat racing games and were both excellent... and they came out one week apart. So they had the same audience. Most of us were unlikely to buy both at launch, and thus they both under-performed even though I think alone either would have done very well. Bizarre Creations eventually got shut down, not sure about the SS studio.

Apparently some of the Bizarre Creations staff were hired by Sumo, I think you can kind of feel their influence in the first two Sonic Racing games - the bee swarm is very similar to the lightning mechanic in Blur for example.

What really sets this game apart to me are the power-ups. They're all good and balanced and can be used in different ways and to counter each other. I can't think of another combat racer this good.

Too bad I created my Steam account way after the game got delisted in January 2013, the game was on sale for a low period of time.
Wish I had could go to the past and buy this game, definitely one of my favorites game of all time, if not the favorite.
Saying that because I am a old veteran from Playstation 3 of this game and wished to have this game in my account.

Too bad there's no way to get this game otherwise you pay thousands for a gift or else if someone gentle come to me and send me a gift which won't never happen haha

wow, how you get a Blur? how much did you pay for it?

I don't have the game on Steam, i have it but on PS3, i still have the original disk here with me and looks like brand new. I mean there was glitch last year that you could get any delisted game but everyone got their games removed and everyone got refunded. I used that just to get Blur and even still they removed the game from my account

I was lucky enough to get Blur but my white whale is Transformers: Devastation. I swear to god that damn game was only on sale for like 6 months. I was waiting for a deeper sale but then *poof* it's gone. I guess that's what I get lol
