From what we've seen the janitor hasn't visited the depths once since the granny death.
And from this moment forward the janitor is pursuing six so we know he didn't go back after the kids capture.
On another note, it's possible to avoid killing the granny by quickly dragging a peice of wood over to the door and then climbing up it, avoiding the sequence entirely.
The janitor is not a good guy.
hes caretaker of the younger kids but that's only so they can grow older and be worth more meat.
That kid in the cafeteria did not seem happy at all living in his care.
And the janitor not only catches six with the intention to have the chefs kill her but numerous other kids as well.
I know it can be argued there a possibility he doesn't know.
But I think it's unlikely as he is the one who keeps the place tidy by taking out all of the trash that is left behind and with his keen sense of smell there's no way he doesn't know the trash is body's.
