A question about the escape from the twin chefs

I'm currently attempting Hard to the Core achievement without any save scumming.
But im having some trouble becomming consistant in the scenario i pictured above.

The front hook is to far away for me to jump to, and the hook behind is not comming fast enough before the chef catches me. I run full speed at all times, and I cant tell how to make sure the hook is where i want it tt to be.

Any of you know any tricks i can use?

It should be to where if you time it perfectly you can get to the front hook.

However if you slow up a little bit the 2nd hook should allow you to make it just barely avoiding the chefs.

I got the achieve earlier today, but...

No, that didnt work out for me. I had a couple of seconds on the last container before i had to make the jump, and the only saving grace at that point was to do a 180 turn and hope i catch the hook behind me. All the scary guys in this game have vacuum hands, and will just suck you into their grip.

The only trick i could use was to exit to main menu and resume, which would put me in the dumpster before the kitchen. This means i would have to do the kitchen again, but its much better than having to start all over. I didnt have to do that in my final run however.

Luckily this was the only part where I had to deal with this stuff, the rest was much better.

I Just got the achievement, and i have to say, this and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ janitor part were insane.

I died an insane amount of times to that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hook.

i kept chasing it and i could never reach it, after 37 deaths ( while training for that part) i found out a possible trick,

You just have to run, climb the boxes TURN AROUND and jump on the hook, the front one it's probably made to trick you into jumping down into nothingness and lose, i wasn't able to grab that hook, it has no shadow it's hard to tell in the moment where it is and if it's in reach, the front one is suicide, the only possibility you really have it's to quickly turn around and grab the other one that is coming, even if the chefs have the grab on you, you will stil get away in the precise moment you'll grab the hook.

ah so you just jumped backwards instead? I didnt try that in my attempts, i dunno why i didnt think of that.

I cant say i had trouble with the janitor at all, but i also had trouble with the fatties at the end. Specifically the park where you have to zig-zag between a bunch on them on the table. Since these guys have vacuum hands it can be pretty tight. Doesn't help that it's at the end of the game either, so infuriating to die at that spot.

I had big problems with the Janitor because since he has long arms it's easy to get caught, even if you slipped away ( probably bugged, i got grabbed even if he shouldn't have reached me) also it's easy for the Janitor to bug and catch you, spot you even if he shouldn't be able to, also he is completely random, some times he sees you, some times he stops before, some times he relentlessy pursue you even if you're completely still....

anyway, i didn't think about turning around too, just be sure to have set the hooks speed at the maximum, so the hook can just jump quickly into your face ( yes you can set a specific speed to the hooks by pushing the lever just a little bit far ( almost over middle) , that's the slow pace, happened to me in one of many tries, it took 2 hours for me to reach the other side and it made me fail the jump cause the hooks were horribly slow, medium speed is the one that almost everybody unintentionally uses, they push the lever and they don't push far to the limit, because they are in a hurry, this one it's possible to grab but it will ♥♥♥♥ you over lots of times, last one it's fast, push the lever until you can't push no more, the hooks will be really fast, it will get you there before the chef giving you an advantage, slide under the table, climb the boxes and turn around and the hook it will swing right in your face, since the speed is faster than " normal" you will have a better chance to get it, but if you try to grab the one in the fron it wil ♥♥♥♥ you over because, of course, it's faster, you won't be able to catch up in time., i failed around 37 times until i tried this one single time and it worked. It was a nightmare part for me too, so hang on ( literally ) And good Luck!


Bonus advice: When you're running on the table try to go on a straight line, that might sound strange but the fatties hitbox it's their entire arm, but i found out you can jump up the arm, the " sucking pressure" it's localized mostly on the hand the arm it's safe, so avoid the first 2 fatasses normally, then jump the arm and jump again quickly, repeat the same with the second one and you should be already there.

Dont need luck anymore, i finished it earlier today I didnt thikn about the hook speed either, i just allways pushed the lever to max without realizing.

Yeah i use the jumping strats for the last fatties. Though i didnt go in a straight line, but it worked out in the end so whatever.

And yeah the janitor can randomly aggro. Sometimes i could just stand still on a carpet and he would aggro to me XD.
To whenever i encounter those mechanics i just took my time. 1 hour is more than enough to complete the achieve, so i just made mental notes on where to spend some extra time. The problems for me is when i just had to go for it and rely on mechanics to not ♥♥♥♥ me over.
