There aren't really any jumpscares, just a lot of creepy things happening and horrifying noises.

This game achieves horror without jump scares =)

The reason i love this game is because it doesnt just try to be scary solely on jumpscares
(Cough Fnaf)
But tries to be more geniunely unerving and creepy. The way i feel a horror game should be.

there is one small part in the second chapter when the janitor sticks his hand through a hole at you, but it isn't loud or anything. Other than that the game relies on an overlying sense of dread to put you on edge rather than cheap spooks. It's not focused on horror.

(Sorry, I didn't know how to make a spoiler the first time around)

If you want to go in blind, yes. It would have been a bit more thoughtful if they put a spoiler tag over it.

in a non-spoiler rephrasing of what they said:

There are points in the game where something sudden will happen, or a sudden noise can startle you, but it's not a 'jump scare' and the game tries to be creepy and scary based on tension, sound, music cues, and other such effects rather than having a enemy pop up and go 'rawr'

+1
Jumpscares are meh.. Old school horror games never relied solely upon jumpscares, but rather atmosphere, tension and dread
