Same problem here. I looked around on some other threads and some people reccomend checking that your drivers are up to date, restarting, all that jazz. Which seems like it should fix the issue, but my game is still silent as ever.

What's especially weird (and I think this is happening to a bunch of people) is that I get sound on the menus, but not the actual playable part of the game. Sometimes I'll alt tab out and the sound will disappear altogether, but will reappear with another alt tab, but only on the menu/pause screens.

For me the sound does not work for the HDMI output of the Nvidia GPU (Laptop).

When switching default sound device to speakers it works.

But man why i have a sound system when i have to play in speaker?

it might sound silly, but have you clicked out and back into the game?

Sometimes i click out of the game, and my sound stops, but i can still control the character. When i click on the game window the sound starts up

I have the same issue. I don't hear sound, not in the menu, not in the game. Tried all of the above ideas.

well at least you have some hope. I dont get any sound weather in menu or in the game

I have the same trouble here. It was working, but now i can't hear sounds in the menu and in the game. Tried all i know, someone have a technical explanation or a configuration to fix that issue?

Same issue - no sound at all, at start menu or during gameplay. Tried the aforementioned suggestions, but no luck.

Devs, please address this...

EDIT 10/11/18 - starting the game in Steam’s Big Picture Mode(I never use this) seemed to do the trick for me. No idea why this would’ve worked, but at least I have sound now. 🤷‍♂️

I guess this thread keeps getting necro'd because it's relevant so I'll add that if anyone else is having this problem and hasn't tried anything yet, just exiting and restarting the game seems to do it for me when the no sound issue occasionally occurs. IF I get unlucky and this stops solving it in future though, I guess I'll have to try opening it from Big Picture too!

Try to turn off fullscreen mode, then you restart the game. That worked for me.

Nothing from this thread works for me. No sound in game nor menu. Other games work fine.
