i've put together an explanation for what happens in Little Nightmares
Alright so after a few painstaking hours i think i've got it down, keep in mind that this is entirely from things you can see in the game and trying to put two and two together.

Ok so y'know how you constantly see tiny ladders and tiny stairs that the other giants wouldn't be able to use, and the convenient vents that ALSO have tiny ladders in them. Well what if all the children used to work in the moor, until the lady decided it was easier just to feed the children to the guests, in the concept art (and i know it's only concept art but..) you can see two pictures of six doing tasks for the giants, one where's she pulling along a tray with steak on and another where's she's washing one. So maybe instead of the player doing things like this they scraped that idea and used it for a backstory for the moor. But either way one thing's for certain, they're eating children, as the janitor captures them and raises them until they're old enough to be eaten, where the janitor sends them over to the kitchen, the chefs in the kitchen then prepare the food, and i know instantly you're thinking that the meat they were using is way to big for the meat to be children meat. I don't think they're serving just the children, they're putting the children inside the regular food so it tastes better, how do i know it tastes better, not a history of eating children but how the guests just suddenly drop their ♥♥♥♥♥ and start chasing you on sight because you must taste that good. Also if you want proof that they're putting children in the food, when you get captured you can be put in a soup or in a fish head if you're near enough. Now to the amazing lady, this one is the most shot in the dark to theorise about, ok, so i don't believe that she's fattening the guests up or giving them their last great meal before they have their souls taken i think that she takes pleasure being prettier than everyone and watching them all disgustingly eat their food makes her feel even better, it's the perfect business for her, everyone who goes on to the moor looks rich and wealthy and i think they pay to go there and just eat to their hearts desire, they get endless food, she get's to feel superior . If you look carefully she's the only one (apart from you) that does things normally, her movements are slow and careful her voice is normal, out of everyone there, she's the superior. However, the reason she wears the mask is to make sure there are no flaws and what i mean by that is, when i was finding the dolls i found a secret hatch where i found one of them but not just that, i found portraits of the lady, and one of them OOOHH BOY one of them, she isn't wearing the mask and her face is a huge eyeball, but also you can find portraits of an eyeball that looks to be wearing a parka... i think. Further down the rabbit hole we all go! When you first enter the lady's house place thing (the place with all the fancy wallpaper) when you walk up the stairs you can see a whole bunch of different portraits, one is of a little girl in a dress and looks around five, and her face is all screwed up (keep this in mind) at the very top of the wall of portraits you can see another portrait of a little girl in the top left corner, she seems to be the same girl from the earlier portrait but a bit older, her face is is out of the light though. But if you walk into the lady's bedroom you can see it again and a bit clearer, it's not too clear but it's clear enough to see that the girl has her hair covering her face a bit. Then below that one you can see what looks to be the same girl but wearing a yellow raincoat, this is one of those moments where the developers are giving you that "we're pretending to be subtle" as they make you feel smart, anyway i think that six is the lady's daughter, (i know it's been said a million times without explanation and if there is an explanation along with it, it's normally "there's a portrait of her" don't worry i'll explain it better) i don't think the lady was always obsessed with being superior to others because remember the screwed up face girl portrait from before? That's most likely a portrait of six but from a time when the lady didn't care about being beautiful and superior to others, so didn't mind that six had a screwed up face. But eventually she does become obsessed and urges six to cover up her face like she does, and it progress from covering it with hair to wearing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ raincoat with the hood fully pulled over. Now we're very far deep into the rabbit hole where we've probably eliminated all rabbits on planet earth but let's continue. I think that eventually the lady couldn't take her own daughter being hideous and decided to get rid of her. Remember those little black sucker things from the beginning of the game? I'm going to say that they are the lady's creations to capture six and take her away from the moor. Why do i think this, well in the first eyeball room if you go upstairs and go all the way to the left you'll find an room with it's door wide open inside you'll see the same black inky substance the sucker things are made from and a pool of it underneath the bed. You can see a drawing of six on the floor and a yellow dress covered in black ink. (by the way you can also see the same drawing pinned to some crates before you get up on to the bar and start dodging all the guests' hands). Now time to tie up all the loose ends. at the beginning of the game you'll come across a man who has hung himself, you can't see his face only the lower part of his body, but overall he looks like a regular human. I think that the man is the lady's husband who was suffering severe stress due to his wife's obsessive and strange behaviour with being beautiful and when the lady decided to remove six from the moor (the man's daughter) he couldn't take it anymore and committed suicide. (i have no explanation as to why six is tiny, i won't even try with that one, that'll hurt my head so much it'll be the equivalent to six herself loading a revolver and shooting me through the skull). There a few more questions to be answered, don't worry we're almost done. After six had been throw out the lady decided that to make sure there was never anyone ever more beautiful than her she gave the janitor the job to capture all the children that ended up on the moor. And to be extra cautious she used the sucker things, the eyeball rooms and the thing in the pool of shoes as extra measures to make sure no children escaped from the janitor.

Alright, this has been painful, but i hope i covered everything, g'day.
