Fatal Error when starting a new game - POSSIBLE FIX

Hello everyone!

As probably all of you know, the game does not support Phenom CPU's or CPU's without SSE4.1. After looking around for a fix, I finally managed to get around one. So don't get your hopes down as this fix will get your game started.

I'll explain everything step by step.

Step #1: Download the files: https://mega.nz/#!1o1DGJgZ!muLvYfhrAATytk81bz9Gpchgcgtc7K6952r2Gbo9kac

Step #2: Open the file with Winrar or some other extracting tool and extract the files into your folder where your LittleNightmares.exe file is.

For example: Little Nightmares\Atlas\Binaries\Win64 (extract into the Win64 folder)

Step #3: Open the command prompt as an Administrator.

Step #4: In the command prompt, type "cd\Little Nightmares\Atlas\Binaries\Win64"

Note 1: If your game is in some other directory, type the correct directory with "cd\YOUR DIRECTORY*\

Note 2: If your game is on Disk D:\ for example, first type "d:" in the command prompt as you need to move to your D:\ disk.

Step #5: when you get to the correct directory in the command prompt, type "dir *.exe". You will get something like that if you extracted the files from Step #2:

LittleNightmares.exe
sde.exe
xed.exe


Step #6: Type "tasklist" in the command prompt. You will get all sorts of .exe files that are running.

NOTE: You need to have the game running before you type in "tasklist".

Step #7: There is a number next to the LittleNightmares.exe in the command prompt.

For example: Little Nightmares.exe 4240 Console


Step #8: This is IMPORTANT. The last thing you need to do is type "sde -attach-pid "4240" (without the " mark)

Note: You may get a different number than me, so type the number that you have.

Step #9: You may now start a new game normally.

NOTE: You will need to re-do all the steps everytime you close the game as you will get the Fatal Error again.

I can get the game running with this method but it stutters so much that its not playable, this would be on account of my CPU burning at 100% most the time this process is active. I have a Core2Quad Q6600 OC'd to 3Ghz and I even run Black Desert fine on this CPU. This issue is going to be more and more prevalent as game engine features opt to use the SSE4.1 instruction set features. I can go buy an SSE4.1 capable CPU for only 10GBP more than the game, which is what I will do, until I can afford to do a full system upgrade.

the dev just need to add ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SSE Leagcy supprot recompile and it would work...

Шаг 2 - Разархивировать в папку с exe игры Little Nightmares\Atlas\Binaries\Win64
Шаг 3 - Открыть командную строку от имени администратора
Шаг 4 - Если игра на диске D вводим "D:"( без ковычек и жмем enter);
Далее вводим это cd\Little Nightmares\Atlas\Binaries\Win64
Шаг 5- вводим dir *.exe
Шаг 6 - Запускаем игру, сворачиваем ее и вводим в командную строку: tasklist ; ищем запущенную игру и запоминаем числа , например Little Nightmares.exe 4240 Console здесь у нас число 4240, но у вас будет по другому(при каждом запуске числа разные)
Шаг 7 - Теперь нужно ввести в командную строку эту строчку: sde -attach-pid 4240 ; но вместо 4240 пишем ваше число.
Разворачиваем игру и наслаждаемся.

The fix I got was from this videom which is for RE7 but worked without a problem for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tezrwk2CxNk&t=565s. Watch it from the beggining to about 9 minutes. The above fix worked flawlessly for me and I do not know what all those errors you guys are getting mean. I know this method worked for a bunch of people who messaged me via Steam. You might just be in a bad luck if this does not work for you and I'm sorry if it doesn't. Might as well just wait for the developers to hopefully patch/fix it.

Dear all, after having this issue myself found a way to try to solve it.

Go to your game folder, and look for the LittleNightmares.exe file and delete it.
Go to Steam and perform an integrity vertification of the files and let Steam to download again the missing files.

After doing that, I've been able to continue playing and just finished it a moment ago.
