terrible controls.
I know what to do, I can see it, getting it to move with any semblance of accuracy is something else. Getting on the seesaw, jumping, every action just seems really alkward and clumsy. Not very far in but the frustration level is far above the puzzle level. Another game I can't be bothered finnishing.

Yeah the controls are a nightmare. (Pun intended?) I find I am constantly misjudging the 3rd dimension in jumps, or simply walking off a ledge right next to a flight of stairs I intend to go down. Trying to jump and climb from behind objects seems needlessly difficult. Worst part is once you die you get dropped back an obscene distance and have to make your way back to the part you failed, sometimes it takes a minute or two to get back just so you can misjudge again and watch six die again.
A quicksave mechanic might be helpful, that or streamline the controls. Maybe have the game orient (aim-assist) the player a wee bit, not enough to piss off the master race, just enough to make a two hour game not take 5 hours because of confusing deaths. I'm no developer, just a guy who plays games and recognizes when they stop being fun and start being a chore. As it stands I usually have to give up on this game after I die a couple times because I'm so bored running all the way back through the same environment only to die again.
Everything about the game is fantastic the only thing holding it back is the needlessly clunky controls. It sucks that companies have been making 2.5d games for like 30 years now and they still can't iron stuff like this out more easily.

Lmao 30 years ago I think 2.5D would have have been a small revolution.

This isn't a 2.5D game, that's when the art is all 3D but you only move on a 2D plane. In this game you can move towards and away from the camera so it is just 3D but very clunky 3D.

The controls are pants, even the bindings are kind of wacky. The game is nice though and I'm still enjoying it.

The game plays better with a keyboard than a controller, lmao.

bc there's a lack of depth perception due to the "cinematic camera" ;lol.
playing with controller makes jumping onto ropes and such a chore.

Protip: Set your right mouse button to sprint, and shift to crawl/slide. Use WASD for movement.

I struggle with the controls on pc, but that could just be me and not the actual control :p I struggle with running and going in the right direction. And sliding into a crouch. I know I'm struggling right now with the controls/my fingers in getting past the 2 cooks in the kitchen so that I can jump on the hooks to the next level.

With keyboard perfect . With controller 360 move in zigzag. wtf?

the challenge is the garbage controlling of the character. im more than halfway through the second game that just came out and the controls are the challenge. not the puzzles. it's repetitive and at times exhausting. to have to start all over because you can't jump on to a grocery cart lol.

Yeah, I've been trying to play this game and I'm having this issue too. Controlling my character is a constant annoying struggle. Trying to grab a rope and going behind it or randomly falling off a platform because I went "up" or "down" too much.

It's all caused by the depth. I would have liked this game if it were 2D. But as a 3D platformer? Nah not for me at all.

But as I said, the game is not for me, I don't actually think the controls are objectively bad.

Worst Controls ever. But not only with the cameras..... sometimes you need to grab yourselves from a box and it fails to grab the box.
I don't know who thought this was ready to release before fixing this huge mistake.

I agree. While I love the look of this game, I'm unimpressed with almost everything else. The objective is not clear, the controls are clumsy and the reset places the player back way too far, resulting in frustration at doing the same awkward maneuvers over and over again.

I'm getting the same problem but in my case its like a tick the char grabs something to pull or push but it doesn't lose it, I can't find a way to release the drawer for example, I open it, then I need to release it to keep moving and it keeps atached to the drawer, I have to push all the buttons till it releases it.

I am so relieved its not just me having such a hard time with the controls. Ive actually given up on the game as it was so bad.! I would request a refund but I bought it months ago and only just played it.
Im on a official Xbox One controller. So the jump only actually jumps 60% of the time and can be so laggy in timing. Holding on, cant guarantee, run is fine but can keep going a little after letting go and forget it if you want to run then jump.. no chance. And the camera angle is so bad with the walking direction. I have fallen off countless stairs, ledges, platforms etc. It got so frustrating. It did remind me of the old days of laggy controllers, but with a game that needs timing and direction to succeed, no thanks! Shame
