How many dolls are there and does it matter where you break them?

Is it possible to throw a gnome or mouse into the meat grinder?

If I break everything in every room does it unlock anything?

You can zoom in to a Chapter in the main menu to see how many collectibles you've found. It's not possble to throw a Nome or mouse into a meat grinder, and no, breaking every thing in sight wont unlock an achievement, but breaking all of the Lady statues, or "Geishas" as everybody calls them, you will unlock something in the Extras menu.
