This game is insultingly short
I completed it in 1,5-2 hours. 4-5 hours should have been enough for an atmospheric indie game such as this, but this game came to an end way to soon and suddenly.

The game was ♥♥♥♥ing great, I have a lot of fun with it. But it could have been MUCH, MUCH better with more content (and it would have been much more well received by critics). Little Nightmares had tons of possibilites (in terms of gameplay, symbolics and visual story-telling, exploration, etc.), but unfortunately it failed to take advantage of them properly because the game abruptly ended.

For a game like this (and for almost any game by the way) the length needs to be at least 4 hours to fulfill the player's needs and give him a complete and satisfying experience. Just a few examples: Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Inside, Firewatch, Limbo. This game failed to deliver in that regard, and it turned out to be a big disappointment because of this. It's even more disappointing considering the time I played I enjoyed this game so much, so it's a shame there wasn't more stuff to play.

I agree, I finish in 3:30h with a bitter taste in my mouth. The game was indeed fantastic but we want another 1h or 2h to explain more about the history, the nightmare and why fat people eat in a boat , eating children maybe, all under the control of a geisha with superpowers..

My guess is eating in this game gives you everything that thing you ate had.
They probably eat kids to stay alive (same goes for the main character through the whole game)
But they're fat so they're probably doing this to avoid dying from diabetes while the main character eats to not starve to death.
Why kids? They're easier to capture.
Why a boat/submarine? You can cross borders easily and avoid multiple justice systems.
Why a geisha? I think mostly because it was made by japanese devs

Same :/ I tought it would take at least 3 hours, but not even close. i'm almost at 1h 30 mins of playing. The game is great, but for such a short story €20 is way too much :/

I guess I'm the only one who got the preorder of the game by buying a bundle on humble bundle :VSnake:

I guess you could say the game couldn't satisfy your endless hunger for more ;)

If they add more content to the game I would love to play it, and then it would be worth the money, the game looks amazing, the idea is amazing, but the length is just not what it should be

They could eat just about anything with meat in it, they also have a wide selection of fish and vegetables, so why specifically children? Also, Tarsier Studios is a Swedish company, not Japanese. The whole Geisha / Japanese themed area was probably chosen for a more symbolistic and aesthetic approach.

The game leaves many unanswered questions, and I do hope that Tarsier Studios apologizes for the game's short length, and ammends their mistakes with FREE DLC that can explain or shed light on to these questions such as; "What do the monsters look like underneath their masks?", "Who is The Lady?", "Why do they have great Feasts, and why are they so important?", Shoupinou promised that these questions would be answered, but they have not been able to fulfill that promise.

I'd be disappointed too if I paid the twenty dollars. It could have benefited from being a bit longer. Just a bit. The ending was anticlimatic.

But I don't like padding. A story shouldn't be longer for the sake of validating the price. I don't want this to be a seven hour game.

If the game could last seven hours and still maintain originality and atmosphere without going stale, I'd take that over 2-3 hours any day. This game needs something more, Shoupinou promised that "our questions would be answered", but they haven't.

You paid full price for it even on humble bundle

You must not have actually looked at the costs involved. You could get most of the games for $1; you could get a few more games for a few more dollars, and than if you wanted the top tier it only added one additional game (little nightmares) for an additional $20

The humble bundle price was not a bonus or a discount, it was simply $20 in addition to you buying the other games in the bundle at their discounted prices

I actually read this and refunded the game.

I was already thinking of refunding because having issues with the controls; I found them stiff and unresponsive. I figured I might get used to it, but when I read this I thought it would suck that I get used to the game just as it was finishing.

I had played for about 96 mins and figured I get my refund before the 2 hour mark. I was not having fun at all. Sad, because I pre-ordered this and was expecting more from it.
