First, download the following sde-external-7.49.0-2016-07-07-win.tar.bz2 from here - https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/pre-release-license-agreement-for-intel-software-development-emulator-accept-end-user-license-agreement-and-download
Click 'DOWNLOAD Intel® SDE for WINDOWS' accept the terms, then select the file stated above to download. EDIT: Make sure you download the file that's 4th down in the list, one with 'win' at the end of the file name.
Once downloaded, extract folder to where you'd like. Then, go into folder, select all files, right click, copy. Then go to wherever your installation is, and where littlenightmares.exe resides, eg D:\Program Files (x86)\Little Nightmares\Atlas\Binaries\Win64 and paste all the files here.)
Once i did all that. I just simply restarted my pc and let steam restart. Game started up fine after that. I would try that first before all the command prompt stuff from that fix thread.
It is very bad to sell out a game, which many people awaits for this and then it doesn´t working. I installed it and then i start it. There comes a text: Wird ausgeführt. Nothing happens. No support now. Very bad. I hope there will be a fix right soon.
Anyway, I did a google search and found this is a common problem with other programs. First, try updating your OS- this is what I did and it fixed the issue.
If that doesn't work, try downloading and installing the latest Visual C++ Redist. If that fails, try completely uninstalling VCR (there's some programs that help do this) and then doing a fresh install, then give it a try.
