I redownloaded the game, changed audio settings, updated drivers, tried different headsets, verified integrity of the game, tried to fiddle with the settings, tried it on another computer (same result). I don't know what it is as this point.
Same, I tried all of that and even reinstalled Steam altogether. The only way it seems to work is if you switch off 'full screen' in the game settings, exit the game, and reopen it. But if you try switching back to full screen, sound goes away. If you leave full screen off, game lags due to video settings. Such a unique game that the devs take no pride in or accountability for, shame.
uninstall audio drivers, install again (or let Win10 choose best audio driver)
Long answer:
I played videos and games without a problem on my tv through HDMI.
Then I had to switch my gfx card installed other drivers and couldn't play game sound on my tv anymore.
1 week later I got my gfx card back and again installed latest nvidia driver WITH Nvida HD audio driver (I think I also did this with the other card).
Again no game sound. Tried a lot, but here is what helped.
I deinstalled the Nvida HD Audi Driver and let Win10 update my audio drivers.
Now I can play with ingame sound on my tv through HDMI again.
deinstall audio driver, let Win10 update your audio driver through device manager or try installing your audio drivers manually. Good luck.
- I downloaded https://vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/banana.htm which creates, lets say a virtual output, that the hdmi driver can work with
- I also had to play the game on window-mode
- If for some reason the audio stops working, for example: the window with the game lose focus. On VoiceMeeter you go Menu -> resets audio soft/driver ... (cant recall the exact words) and it works again.
- yes, Voicemeeter has to be opened and working on the background, you can minimize the window if it bother your visual
GL everybody!
