Did you set the gamma right? It tells you to change it until the eye is barely visible but at the default setting the eye wasn't visible for me at all and I didn't even know it was there until I played with the slider.

The game did not give me a flashlight hint in the beginning which is F to start up a lighter, so I just ran around in the dark and randomly dying all the time.

I did try the gamma slider, but it did not really help much for me

Yeah there's a few missing hints at the start. Guess they hadn't got to those yet

I would have probably floundered about in the dark as well, but luckily I checked the controls beforehand and noticed the light function.

Controls is probably the second thing I look at in the game, right after adjusting the graphics settings.

me too XDDDDD, and I keep finding what is wrong about my requirment which is totally the wrong way to solve this...is that because I use controller, so it dont tell me the hint to turn on the light?

If it's of any lesson, check the controls from the main menu next time you start a game.

It's B (or pressing on Right Stick) on the gamepad.

I have tried it, it does make a sound for hitting the lighter, but nothing in vision, still dark. And my computer is not shutdown at all, I can use esc to go back menu smoothly.

It is either your ingame settings, or a bug in the game. Try verify the game in steam settings.

gamma slider did not help me, and I set the lowest screen solution not even better, also already try to verify. :(
